Water Holding Structures

Parnell Baths

Parnell, Auckland, New Zealand

Approximately 1,260 kg of Xypex Admix C-1000 NF, 16 tonnes of Denka CSA and MS600 were combined to provide a shrinkage compensated, waterproof and durable floor slab as part of the Parnell Baths upgrade. The floor was poured as two slabs, with two new in situ cast end walls containing Xypex Admix and MS600 completing the new structures. During 2009, Xypex Patch'n Plug was used to stem water flow through the old seawall of the balance tank under the wooden decking, while the common pool wall within the balance tank was coated with two coats of Xypex Concentrate/Gamma Cure to address fine cracks and extend the serviceable life of this popular seawater pool. This was performed by Aquastop and specified through GHD.
