This project used Xypex products to waterproof the concrete, effectively addressing fluctuating groundwater pressures without the need for additional insulation layers. It also provided robust protection against chemicals (such as dissolved salts and fuel derivatives) from the garage area.

The basement's garage base plate included Xypex DS-1 Dryshake and Xypex Concentrate was used for the plinth area of the walls. Xypex Cryrstalline technology forms a non-soluble crystalline structure within the concrete matrix. This structure prevents the infiltration of water and chemicals, thus enhancing the structure's longevity.

Furthermore, the use of Xypex's crystalline waterproofing system facilitated a more efficient construction process and reduced costs by allowing the insulation work to proceed almost concurrently with the concreting. This resulted in durable protection and improved construction efficiency.
