To address the waterproofing requirements of the Churchill Square project, Nekap, in conjunction with Skanska and Jakub Cigler Architects, utilized Xypex Admix C-1000 NF in the concrete with a steel water-stop system at the construction joints. The Xypex Admix C-1000 NF is added to the concrete during batching, significantly reducing the work required at the project site for waterproofing.
Nekap, the waterproofing subcontractor, played a crucial role in the success of the project by providing support during the planning and execution of the project.
Details, drawings, and specifications related to waterproofing were provided to the engineering company, simplifying the project and resulting in significant time and financial savings. Moreover, Nekap's on-site supervision during joint installation and concrete pours ensured the concrete structure was successfully waterproofed without issue by addressing all problems prior to pouring concrete before they became a problem in the hardened concrete.
The Churchill Square office project in Prague's Žižkov area complements the historic surroundings while maintaining a contemporary appearance. The project consists of two administrative buildings on a slope, blending in with the functionalist-style buildings nearby. Nekap ensured the project was constructed to the highest quality with daily site visits and a full guarantee for the structure's waterproofing. Skanska and the project team selected the Xypex waterproofing system for the Churchill Square project based on the successful waterproofing performance and cost savings of previous projects. This project’s successful application of Xypex products exemplified the value Xypex waterproofing provides to owners and contractors.
