PACCAR Cab Storage Facility Expansion
PACCAR, a leading manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks, expanded its Sainte-Thérèse facility to increase storage capacity for finished cab units. The new addition required durable, watertight concrete construction to protect sensitive industrial components and maintain efficient operations throughout the year.
To meet these requirements, Xypex Admix C-500 was incorporated into approximately 35 m³ of concrete supplied through five ready-mix deliveries coordinated by Béton Provincial and Groupe Béton Corbeil. The crystalline admixture reacts with moisture and unhydrated cement particles to form insoluble crystals that seal micro-cracks and block water pathways.
This integral waterproofing approach ensured continuous protection without the complexity of membrane installation, ideal for the project’s tight schedule and cold weather pours. The Xypex crystalline system provided PACCAR with a permanent, maintenance-free waterproofing solution for its expanded cab storage facility. Its self-healing properties and integral performance extend the lifespan of the concrete structure while ensuring long-term durability under industrial operating conditions.
