To address the harsh conditions within the lift station, Xypex Bio-San was incorporated into the concrete mix, providing integral protection against microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) caused by high levels of hydrogen sulfide (H2S).

Its advanced crystalline technology enables self-healing of micro-cracks and resistance to hydrostatic pressure, ensuring long-term impermeability and structural integrity. Xypex Bio-San offered a durable, cost-effective, and maintenance-free alternative to membranes, particularly for complex or high-exposure structures. Environmentally sustainable, it reduces waste and labour costs while outperforming membranes in harsh conditions.
