Aquatic environments pose significant durability challenges due to constant exposure to water, chlorides, and treatment chemicals. Addressing these challenges during construction was critical to ensuring long-term performance and minimizing maintenance.

To meet these demands, the project team selected Xypex Admix C-500, and Xypex Megamix I as part of the concrete protection strategy. Xypex Admix C-500 was incorporated directly into the concrete mix for both the poured pool walls and the ground slab, providing integral crystalline waterproofing.

Xypex Megamix I provided a dense, durable resurfacing layer with integral protection against water ingress, chloride penetration, and chemical attack. At the same time, Xypex Xycrylic Admix enhances the bonding strength, flexibility, and durability of cementitious applications, allowing coatings and repairs to withstand movement and environmental stress.

By integrating these solutions into the construction process, the project will reduce future repair needs, lower maintenance costs, and extend service life. This approach safeguards the City’s investment while supporting sustainability by reducing waste and conserving resources over the facility’s lifespan.
