Enhancing Coastal Mobility: Floating Dock Installations

A new floating dock in Quebec required a long-term solution for waterproofing and durability in a harsh marine environment.  The answer was Xypex Admix C-500, added directly at batching to create a permanent, integral waterproofing system. The crystalline admixture reacts with water and cement by-products to seal cracks and pores, resisting water ingress, chlorides, and chemical corrosion. By eliminating traditional membranes, the design avoids punctures and delamination, simplifies construction, and reduces maintenance. The result is a watertight, durable dock with extended service life and reduced lifecycle costs.

Protecting Quebec’s Wastewater Facilities Against MIC

The regional septic sludge treatment center in Sainte-Germaine-Station needed an upgrade to increase capacity and durability against harsh wastewater conditions. The solution was Xypex Bio-San, an admixture designed for environments exposed to hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) and microbial-induced corrosion (MIC). Combining crystalline technology with antimicrobial protection, Bio-San ensured crack self-healing, hydrostatic resistance, and long-term impermeability. This environmentally sustainable approach reduced waste, lowered maintenance costs, and delivered durable, low-maintenance protection, outperforming membranes in aggressive sewage conditions.

Trusted for Data Center Construction: Concrete Durability for Uptime

Concrete degradation is a silent threat to mission-critical facilities. Even microcracks can cause water ingress, spalling, and costly downtime. Xypex Admix C-500 NF provides watertight, self-healing protection that cannot be punctured or peeled like membranes — ensuring resilient, low-maintenance foundations for the digital world.

Taylor Shellfish Processing Facility – Washington, USA

Taylor Shellfish, the largest shellfish producer in North America, needed a way to protect its new wet processing facility from the corrosive effects of saltwater, grit, and contaminants. To avoid costly future maintenance, the concrete skimmer tanks and holding platforms required long-term resistance to harsh marine exposure. Xypex Admix C-500 was integrated into the concrete mix, creating a crystalline waterproofing system that self-heals cracks and blocks chloride ingress. The result is durable, low-maintenance concrete that withstands continuous saltwater exposure, reduces lifecycle costs, and ensures reliable performance in a critical food processing environment.

Setia Spice Convention Centre -Penang, Malaysia

The Setia Spice Convention Centre needed to waterproof over 50,000 m² of exposed concrete, including basements, tanks, pools, roof gardens, and flat roofs, in an area with high groundwater, chlorides, and sulphates. To meet these challenges, the solution had to be permanent, resilient, and suitable for a large multi-use facility. Xypex Admix C-1000 NF, Concentrate, and Modified were used throughout, forming an integral crystalline barrier that reduced permeability and resisted aggressive chemical attack. This approach provided lasting protection, shortened construction timelines, and minimized future maintenance, helping the award-winning facility achieve recognition for both engineering excellence and sustainability.
