Restoring Nashville’s Oldest Reservoir with Built-In Durability

To waterproof Nashville’s largest and oldest drinking water reservoir, built in 1889, Bowen Engineering chose Xypex Admix C-500 NF. By integrating the crystalline waterproofing directly into the concrete mix, the city secured permanent protection from within. This guaranteed a leak-free structure with superior resistance to hydrostatic pressure, all while meeting the strict NSF 61 potable water safety certification. This solution protects clean water with proven, generational durability.

Sustainable Waterproofing for Laval’s Revitalized Couvrette Park

The City of Laval specified a comprehensive Xypex system to protect the new multi-season chalet and aquatic facilities at Couvrette Park from water and chemical attack. The system included Xypex Admix C-500 for integral pool waterproofing, Xypex Megamix I for resurfacing, and Xycrylic Admix for enhanced bonding. Embedding this multi-product solution directly into the construction process ensures long-term durability and minimizes future maintenance costs for this key community asset.

St. Louis Zoo - Sea Lion Sound Exhibit - Missouri, USA

The $18 million Sea Lion Sound exhibit, featuring a 258,000-gallon saltwater pool and an underwater viewing tunnel, required permanent waterproofing. Xypex Admix C-500 was specified for 1,200 cubic yards of shotcrete rockwork and cast-in-place walls. The Admix was chosen for its compatibility with artificial rock and ease of use (in soluble bags), successfully waterproofing the entire structure against constant salt exposure.

Xiamen Airlines Ancient Stone Plaza - Fujian Province, China

This large commercial complex was built on an island facing extreme hydrostatic pressure and high groundwater, which risked concrete corrosion. To waterproof the subterranean structure (over 50,000 m2), Xypex Concentrate was applied to the foundation, side walls, and basement roof. This application ensures long-term protection against aggressive chemicals and coastal soil conditions.
