I have a second floor slab that has been leaking water for quite some time.
This slab need resurfacing as well.
Is it possible to mix the xypex coating with a self leveling product?
The customer wants the slab smooth and waterproof with a non/skid flooring paint to finish.
      Please give me your opinions

Adam,  Firstly my appologies for how long it has taken for me to respond.  There have been some computer challenges associated with this forum page.
There are no Xypex products that I would recommend can be mixed with self levelers to provide a waterproof system.  There are a number of reasons for this that we can discuss if you wish.
This said, there may be a way to use Xypex products to achieve what your customer wants.  What products to use and how best to utilize them will depend to some extent on the service the floor will see and the situation.  Please give me a call at 604-273-5265 and we can discuss.

Would the correct solution here be to apply xypex as a coating and then follow with a self-leveler once cured?  Why would it not be appropriate to use something like admix C-2000 with self leveler?

My particular application is a basement floor with a very thin and inconsistent slab (1920 home with multiple renovations).  The most recent renovation put self-leveler over top, but it needs substantially more leveling before it can be finished.  Because water sometimes percolates up through the thinner areas, we'd like to treat it with xypex, and it would be great to kill two birds with one stone and add C-2000 to the self leveler.

As a side note -- what's the best way to find concrete suppliers and contractors with experience working with this product?  So far I've had no luck.  I'm willing to DIY install, but for a large area I'd rather have a professional crew.

Xypex Concentrate is used on concrete floors prior to a self
leveler being put down on them.

Putting Xypex onto a self leveler however I do not like
much.  Self levelers normally have a lot
of polymer in them in order for them to go as thin as they do and yet hold
      together.  Thus they are pretty
impervious.  Xypex needs to be able to
diffuse through the layer of self leveler and the impervious nature of the
      material will likely interrupt this.

Adding X-2000 or other Xypex admix to the self leveler is
not recommended either as you again are working with a high polymer material.

If you choose to repour a new slab over the existing as a
way of leveling the floor then Xypex Admix (C-500 or 1000) is probably a good

Call if you want to discuss.
